Cormorant on the Thames

DSC_0029A cormorant is battling the waves on the Thames. I took the picture with a 55 – 300 mm zoom but didn´t get close enough so the picture above is cropped. Uncropped picture below.  More animal pictures at Camera Critters and Saturday’s Critters and more bird pictures at The BIRD D’Pot  and Wild Bird Wednesday.

  1. Hello, great capture of the Cormorant. I would not expect to see waves on the Thames. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy day and new week ahead!

  2. These birds dive for thier food so their is no way they will drown unless they do not come up occasionally to dry their feather because unlike ducks geess and Swans, their feather are not waterproofed so they have to dry them. Otherwise they would et too heavy and indeed drown,

    • Thank you! I didn´t know which bird it was at the time as it was so tiny but seeing it dives for its food mad me realise he wasn´t in any danger. I wish you a wonderful weekend!
