A jackdaw searching for food

DSC_3486A jackdaw picking through the  grass for some food. It doesn’t show in the picture but the grass is dotted with snow and it is cold so it is important to pick as much food as possble while it still is light. More animal Pictures on Camera Critters and more bird pictures on Wild Bird Wednesday and The Bird D’Pot.

    • There seems to be goodies in the ground as there were a lot of them.. On the other side of the street is the canal where people go and they have bread and feed the birds. So I think this is a good spot for them to be. But today I saw lots of blackbirds in my garden feasting on the fallen apples. I hope that helps them to get through the cold days. I wish you a good weekend!

    • Thank you! I seached for grackle and found that they are very beuatiful with a blue sheen on their feathers. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I wish you a good weekend!.

    • Thank you! Yes they act very typical. I often find jackdaws and rooks close to each other. Our crows are grey and black but they behave the same as their cousins all over the world. I wish you a good weekend!
